RIDBC Teleschool Guiding Principles for Telepractice - iBOOK ONLY The Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC is Australia's largest independent provider of special education and related services. RIDBC provides innovative services throughout Australia to children with hearing and/or vision impairment, including those with additional disabilities. When RIDBC needed to provide educational and related services to children who live in remote and rural areas of Australia, it aimed to provide services of equal quality and intensity to those provided in the major cities. This goal led to the establishment of RIDBC Teleschool. Using videoconferencing as the major medium supported by other technological solutions, RIDBC Teleschool has led the way in Australia in the provision of service delivery by telepractice. The model of telepractice used by RIDBC is described in this book. Although the model was developed for use with children who have hearing or vision impairment, this book has been written with a broader application. In this book you will find a set of principles and practices which may be used for the establishment or enhancement of teleproctice in a variety of disciplines.
